For challenging hernia repair, choose Strattice™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix.
Strattice™ Tissue Matrix is a reconstructive matrix that supports tissue regeneration1. It is derived from porcine dermis and undergoes non-damaging proprietary processing that removes cells and reduces the key component believed to play a major role in the xenogeneic rejection response. Strattice Tissue Matrix is recommended for use in soft-tissue repair to reinforce soft tissue where weakness exists including ventral and parastomal hernias as well as open abdomen repairs.
Strattice Tissue Matrix potential benefits in hernia repair
- Supports rapid revascularisation, cell repopulation and white cell migration**,1
Photo of Strattice Tissue Matrix in a human patient. Strattice Tissue Matrix was vascularised as evidenced by its bleeding when rubbed with forceps two weeks post implantation.
- Allows for local treatment in the setting of infection*
Photos of exposed Strattice Tissue Matrix in a human patient taken at different time intervals to monitor wound progression. Wound closed over the course of 5 months.
- Minimises adhesions to implant**,2
Correlation of these results to results in humans is not established.

Many variables including patient pathology, anatomy and surgical techniques may influence procedural outcomes. Before use, surgeons should review all risk information and essential prescribing information which can be found in the Strattice Reconstructive Tissue Matrix Instructions for Use (PDF, 4 MB) . Doctors should also refer to the Instructions For Use for detailed preparation and implantation instructions.
